Hello Everyone,

I am reading online that many people had much better gaming performance with an updated BIOS for my computer but the HP support assstant doesn't show any updates there and all of the linked files are now dead. I'm at F.12 when I'm reading others have up to F.27.

AMD 10-4600m

16GB DDR3

Radeon 7660g

240GB SSD

System board: 1849 57.2E

System BIOS: F.12

Thanks.

Hello @NavyET2,

The reason why HP support assistant is not finding BIOS update nor HP drivers website page is having BIOS update for you PC is because, The current OS on your PC is WIN 10 and HP has not released any BIOS updates for Win 1O currently.

I believe, that your PC had come preinstalled with WIN8 and you upgraded to WIN8.1 and then to WIN 10 or directly to WIN 10.

Now if you have to update BIOS on your PC, the only option  is by downgrading the OS back to WIN 8 OR 8.1, update to the Latest BIOS and then upgrade to WIN 10.

The BIOS update is available for WIN 8.

WIN 8 and WIN 8.1 have the same Kernel and BIOS update will be the same.

Thanks for the information. I guess my next action would be to pull my drives (240gb SSD + 1TB SSHD in optical bay) and temporarily install Windows 8.1 on a fresh 2.5" drive to update the bios. I'll be doing so in a couple of days. I'll report if there are any issues.

Thanks again.
