Product: HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d5000 (4V9Y3AV)

I got a CPU performance error and my brand new laptop started moving slowly and the caps lock wouldn't work. I went to HP website and updated the BIOS. I am now freaking out. Have I unknowingly damaged my brand new computer? Can I remove this update? Please help me I am stressed out and I should have read more before making the update.
