Microsoft Windows 11

BIOS ver 2.5 is current version, there is a new BIOS Update to Ver 2.7 but after installing successfully, it says, my Laptop still shows ver 2.5 not 2.7.

HPSA will tell you when you need to update BIOS, Please don't play around with BIOS, that is the shortest way to brick your machine

I was not playing, I do understand that it can do real damage, but HP Updates reported that this was an update for my Laptop.

If, as you say, I should not fool around with the BIOS, then why is it being offered as an update?

Are you saying I should not update my BIOS when one is available?

HP Recommended

I reported an incorrect BIOS version, currently mine is Ver F 25 and the update is to F 27. Sorry for the mistake.

So I was just on the HP Support Site and it showed that a BIOS update was available, soo I once again tried to install the BIOS update using, as always, the HP installer.

Once again it fails to install even though it says it successfully installed, my Version number is still 25 but should be 27. Is it worth pursuing this any further?
