@janith7 Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you are facing issues with the BIOS update.

Start with a hard reset to release any excessive static on the PC:

  • If Windows is open, click Start and then Shutdown.

  • If Windows is not open and the computer has power, press and hold the power button on the computer until the computer shuts off.

  • With the power off, disconnect the power cord from the back of the computer.

  • With the power off and the power cord disconnected, press the power button on the computer for 5 seconds. The power light indicator on or near the power button might turn on briefly but then go out.

  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the power.

Attempt to reset or recover the existing BIOS (if the recent update was interrupted): Click here

Step 1: Verify the current BIOS version installed and the correct ROM Family SSID for your PC

Step 2: Find the BIOS updates

Step 3: Download and install the BIOS update

Dear Agent,

It looks like you haven't read the question fully.  What kind of laptop we can turn on if the BIOS were bricked/corrupted??

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02693833 This solution work only if the 2nd laptop is HP.

Try to give proper answer next time please.

Thank you,

Thanks for keeping us posted

Normally you should be able to download the BIOS file to the external flash drive even if the computer used is not an HP

At this point I suggest you contact HP Support in your region for Service Options

1) Click on this link - www.hp.com/contacthp/
2) Select your product type below.
3) Enter the serial of your device.
4) Select the country from the drop-down.
5) Select the chat or get phone number options based on your preferences.
6) Fill the web-form and proceed further.

Thank you

Dear Toad,

I found the solution. After spending many hours in google. BIOS file name sp55068.exe . Extracted the file and some work. Then create the two files and place them in USB (X:\Hewlett-Packard\BIOS\Current ) . 01658.BIN and 01658.SIG.

Thank you,

Janith

Also I was able to test different wifi adaptor in my laptop. HP had whitelist wifi adaptors to certain manufactures. Original one was Ralink and now I can use Realtek adaptor.
