BIOS update FP.42 sp105888

Hello,

is it worth upgrading the BIOS from the HP Support Assistant to FP.42 sp105888. Anyone?

BIOS updates should be installed when there is a reason to do so.

For example,

• Critical security update
• Critical performance update
• You have determined that the BIOS should be updated to solve a problem

Ultimately, updating the BIOS is your decision.

OR

Left to itself, if HP Support Assistant is set to Auto-Update, it might make the decision for you.

Keep the computer connected to AC power in case this happens.

- Provides improved security of UEFI code and variables.

Consider

• BIOS update should only be installed while the notebook is connected to AC power.
• BIOS update should be installed after you have backed up your most critical folders / files to somewhere other than the computer.  Should there be a problem, "after the fact" might be too late to backtrack.
• BIOS updates are best installed alone, that is, manually and without the complication of installing other software / updates at the same time.
• BIOS updates will reboot the system - make sure you are not running other tasks when the BIOS updates.

Easy manual instructions

1. Download the file by clicking the Download or Obtain Software button and saving the file to a folder on your hard drive (make a note of the folder where the downloaded file is saved).

2. Double-click the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions.
