Specs of my machine:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home
Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041
Other OS Description Not Available
OS Manufacturer Microsoft Corporation
System Name DESKTOP-VTMG11M
System Manufacturer HP
System Model HP Pavilion x360 m3 Convertible
System Type x64-based PC
System SKU W2L19UA#ABA
Processor Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-7100U CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2400 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
BIOS Version/Date Insyde F.39, 5/29/2020
SMBIOS Version 2.8
Embedded Controller Version 57.53
BIOS Mode UEFI
BaseBoard Manufacturer HP
BaseBoard Product 81A9
BaseBoard Version 57.53
Problem: last required BIOS update to F.39 resulted in laptop shutting of as soon as unplugged. My other laptop, same product and processor, hasn't been updated yet and working just fine. All tests come back ok. Battery test says: "Battery calibration required" "automated battery calibration not supported by system"
Manual calibration impossible since laptop automatically shuts off therefore won't drain battery. All battery settings are switched to never for hibernate, sleep and shutdown.
HP has to send me either the fix to this BIOS problem or send me the previous version since the UEFI won't let me downgrade it.

Hi,
Since last BIOS update to version F.39, my laptop has been shutting off when unplugged. I have another hp laptop, same product, but didn't do the BIOS update and it works fine. All battery tests have been passed. I even unseated the battery and held the power button for 1 minute. As soon as I unplug the charger, the laptop shuts off. I switched all hibernate and sleep and shutdown options to never but still the same problem. When I tried running the UEFI tests and battery calibration, it came up as " Battery calibration required (20)" and "automated battery calibration not supported on this system".
I then tried a manual calibration by letting it drain but the system just shuts down as soon as I unplug therefore I can't even drain it.
I need HP to either send the BIOS that corrects this error created by F.39 or to send me the previous BIOS version since the UEFI won't let me downgrade it.
This is super frustrating that even though HP is at the source of this issue, they won't even help since my laptop is out of warranty.
Please help anyone.
Thanks

@krazyToad
HP wouldn't let me sign in as nico9111 so here I am nico9112...
I already did the BIOS recovery and unfortunately what it does is automatically download the faulty F.39 BIOS version instead of proposing to downgrade or offering a newer non-faulty version.
How can I downgrade to the previous version?
Thank you for your help!
