HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk2000 Laptop PC (2P1Z0AV)

I downloaded from the official website an application to update the BIOS, and the laptop model was detected automatically. But when I tried to update it in WIndows, I got the same error as: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-System-and-Recovery/Bios-Update-Not-enough-free-dis...

There's a solution in the form of update BIOS manually from a USB Flash drive(outside of Windows).

I followed the official instructions, but when I got to point 12 ("Select the BIOS update file that matches the System Board ID. The ID has a "0" before the board ID (example: 02291.bin).") I had the following choice:

But my system board ID (88E5) is not here. Here are my specifications:

So how do I update the BIOS? Please help me.

@Danil1303,

HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI stores a current BIOS file in EFI partition on the hard drive, and you can view the bin file from Firmware Management of F2 Hardware Diagnostics UEFI. A correct bin file for your bios update will be the one that has the same suffix as the stored bin file. You can take the following steps:

1. Remove a USB drive that has two sets of bin files and reboot and go into F2 Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

2. Click Firmware Management.

3. Click BIOS Update then Select BIOS Image to Apply

4. Click the file system that appears in the screen

5. Click EFI and navigate to \EFI\HP\BIOS\current.

6.Now you'll see "0xxxx.bin."

In my case, a bios update file for a Pavilion laptop generates two sets of bios files, 01982 and 02130.bin files and my system board ID is1984, but the bios file stored in EFI is 01982 (see the screen shot below), so I need to use 01982.bin file for updating BIOS.

Let me know how it goes. If this doesn't work, there's other way you can try.

It worked, the stored file was 088E4.bin. Thanks a lot for your help.
