Microsoft Windows 11

When I initially received the BIOS update to version F.51, the update process stalled at a stage of clearing something from a previous BIOS.  It counted up from 0 to 384 and the progress meter went from 0 to 100 percent fairly quickly... but then it just turned off the fan and just sat there.  The same thing happened when I downloaded that update from the HP web site.  The only thing that appeared to work was to force the power off, and then back on again.  Once I did that, the system did another restart or two, but then it did successfully boot Windows 11.  But since that first time, I have discovered that I can not change or remove the BIOS passwords that were in place before the first time the update was done (from Windows Update).  Windows seems to run just fine... the only problem is the lack of ability to change or remove the BIOS passwords.  The screen to do that under the BIOS system only displays fields for new password and confirm password.  There is no field to enter the existing passwords.  It is as though the code that puts that screen up believes there are no current passwords even though I had to enter the administrative password to be able to get to that screen.  I do know what the current passwords are... I just can't change or remove them.

I realize no one here can give me a solution as this would amount to bypassing security.  My only hope is that someone in HP will see this and see that a new BIOS update can be done to fix the bug.
