HP Pavilion Gaming 15-dk2000 Laptop PC (2P1Z8AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a Pavilion Gaming Laptop 15-dk2029na.

I'm getting a BSOS error 0xc000000e Device may be missing....

I tried Windows RE but there's no option to reset so I tried a re-install using Windows 11 on a USB but when I go to install it says no drive found to install Windows.

But if I go to cmd prompt and C: it shows the drive (which is an Optane M2 I beleive) and I can see all the folders include Windows..

Anyway, can anyone explain either how I fix the boot issue or do a clean install please?

I have a backup of any data files so that's not a worry.

PS... I have run the HP diagnostics and everything passed.

Thanks in advance

Hi:

See this discussion for how to clean install W11 on your PC:  You can use the same driver I posted in the discussion.

You can also use the HP cloud recovery tool to factory reset the drive:

You shouldn't need to install any storage controller drivers using this method.

You can use the HP cloud recovery tool to reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.

You can download the software from the Microsoft Store.

HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Microsoft Store Apps

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, so you will need to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed to make the recovery media.

Your PC's product number is: 542S5EA#ABU
