Laptop 15-bs1xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

BSOD are happening every 10-20 minutes.

SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION

KERNEL SECURITY CHECK FAILURE

KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED

SYSTEM THREAD EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED

Reset the OS back to factory install and updated via microsoft.

performed sfc /scannow - clean report

tested memory - clean

Still getting  BSOD  SYSTEM SERVICE EXCEPTION

AND new problem: when coming out of sleep, the screen freezes (dot circle stops) and requires a power cycle.

Any ideas on what the root cause areas may be?

What should I check?

@Mark13W

Bluescreen failures (i.e., BSODs) are notoriously difficult to diagnose and to fix -- far beyond what WE typically can do in THIS self-help Community.

What you need is a forum where folks have vast experience troubleshooting, diagnosing, and suggesting repairs for BSODs, as follows:

The community Win10 forums has a section devoted to diagnosing BSODs. So, your best bet would be to post your problem there: https://www.tenforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/

Good Luck

Thanks for the pointer.

The solution was buried in the bios. The bios was dated a few years back (2006), and an update (flash the bios) made all the problems disappear! I am quite happy about the fix, but woefully disappointed in the support capabilities.
