Hi @KFCheong,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop is displaying an error message that says "battery not detected" or "no battery present," there could be several possible causes for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

  • Check the battery connections: Make sure that the battery is securely and properly connected to the laptop. Turn off the laptop, unplug the power cord, and remove the battery. Then, reinsert the battery and turn on the laptop to see if the error message goes away.
  • Clean the battery contacts: Over time, the contacts between the battery and the laptop can become dirty or corroded, which can cause connection issues. Try cleaning the contacts with a soft, dry cloth or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol.
  • Reset the laptop's power settings: In some cases, incorrect power settings can cause battery detection problems. Go to the Control Panel, select Power Options, and then select "Restore default settings for this plan."
  • Replace the battery: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that the battery itself is faulty or has reached the end of its lifespan. You may need to replace the battery with a new one.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
