@WAWood

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.

@Jokhyt

@WAWood  is correct - there is naught to be done unless the computer is failing due to bad components.  If the computer is actually broken due to need for maintenance, perhaps a full diagnostic of the internals will uncover something actionable.  Test and fix.

The thread is several years old -- it does address the issue of the "Unknown" app.

Author is a Microsoft Mod / Expert.

I tend to not gainsay people who claim to know the subject matter they discuss.

What to do?

Some of my favorites for monster Zbook Fury G8 -- The usual...

  • If the system is straining for resources outside itself, install a top-tier router and clean up the network.
  • Live with high-grade components - purchase a baby consumer grade computer for battery savings.
  • Run backups as often as needful for your sanity - know that even incremental File History backups will impact resources.  Check frequency, when, and how backups are run.
  • Darken the screen a bit to where you can see comfortably - less is better for the display / battery
  • Remove fancy backgrounds - use a plain gray background,
  • Reduce the number of shortcuts on the Desktop,
  • Reduce / manage the Windows Search -- check what you want / need in the Search Index and pay attention to how it impacts resources.  Save multiple changes to the search hierarchy for when you are not running on battery.  For example, don't delete or add 500 or so files where they will impact your Search Index.
  • Check your Windows Startup apps list - switch off (remove from Startup) any apps that you can stand to start when needed and not have running in the background as soon as Windows starts.

Truth -- Nothing really works for monster Zbook -- too many high-grade components -- I get a bit more than an hour or 90 minutes on a decent battery.

All comments meant in kindness.

Good Luck.

I did all the steps, still nothing and it is still draining

If this is brand new, then you should contact HP Customer Service about doing an exchange or getting a refund:

I did and they could not find out the issue, I am in need of help please. I got it 4 days ago and it is doing this. I restarted it multiple times. Please Help

If the battery is draining a lot, about all you can do is either live with it, since we can't change that, or look under your startup apps to see which ones you can disable to cut back on processing demands.

I cant live with it because that defeats the purpose of the laptop, being mobile. Like that will just make it a desktop. I did go through the apps and nothing is found to be draining it. There is definitely a driver or something in the background messed up because it is Unknown [NONE]. So yeah I do not know what to do please help me man

HP Recommended

We have no access to your laptop -- their is nothing we can do from here other than provide links to diagnostic routines and videos.  If they don't find an issue, then your only realistic options are to replace the battery, hoping the new one does not have the same issue, or complain to HP Customer Service about the poor battery life and do an exchange of the laptop with one that hopefully, has a better battery life.

The thing is even if I replaced the battery, the same thing will happen because the issue is not in the battery but rather by a program or a driver. Because as you can see from the System Power Report, Unknown [NONE] app ID is causing this drainage. Keep in mind I was just on chrome the whole time. Screenshot 2024-04-19 184321.png

In terms of programs, you would have to go into Startup and disable the programs, one by one, until you find the one causing the problem.

In terms of drivers, you can use HP Support Assistant to search for newer drivers -- but if it does not find any, then there is no diver update you can apply.
