My laptop is saying the battery is low plug to power, but it does not recognize the power supply when plugged in and shuts down. I can wait and turn it back on and it does the same thing, when I do get a chance to check battery status it says it is 100% but still says battery low plug to power and shuts down all while it is plugged to power that is why I think it is not recognizing the power supply. Can you help ?
Thanks

Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Do you have an alternate adapter to check?
Are you able to power on the computer? If yes, then I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

Follow the steps in the below article to update the BIOS.

If you continue facing the issue, reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.
Here is how you do it.
Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”
Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”
Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.
Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”
Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
