Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop has consistently shutoff without warning at around 50% battery power when not plugged into a power source. Also, the HP Hardware Diagnostics will not open (run as administrator) for me to run a battery test. I have already repaired, restarted, and even reinstalled the Diagnostics application so that step has already been attempted with no success.

You can change options from Power settings for Active power plan, for example

Remember to click Apply before get out.

To access the above menu, please

(a) Right click battery icon and select Power options

(b) Select Change plan settings,

(c) Select Change advanced power settings

(d) Scroll down to Battery (at the bottom),

Regards.

I tried that with no success as the laptop still turned off abruptly.
