Upon startup my system shows the following alert:
Battery alert detected!
Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows to check the health of the battery.
Run Battery Check under Component Test in HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows.
I have run the fast and evrything was ok but the Battery Test was cancelled. I've tried running the Extensive test but it needs to be done over 2 hours in sleep mode so might have to do this when I leave work.
Has anyone had this hapen and what was the outcome please?

@MJ324, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Run Battery Test in HP Diagnostics (Windows)
Search for HP PC Hardware Diagnostics Windows in the Start menu.
Open it.
Go to: Component Tests > Power > Battery Check
If it runs and says Passed, your battery is fine.
If it gets cancelled, continue to the next step.
Try the Extensive Battery Test
In the same tool, choose Extensive Test.
Takes up to 2 hours.
Do this when you're not using your laptop.
Run Battery Test from BIOS (Outside Windows)
Shut down your laptop.
Turn it on and press Esc repeatedly, then press F2.
Choose Component Tests > Battery Test.
This often works better than the Windows version.
Check Battery Health in HP Support Assistant
Open HP Support Assistant (search in Start).
Go to the Battery tab.
It will show if your battery is healthy or needs replacing.
Update BIOS and Drivers
Use HP Support Assistant or visit hp.com/drivers
Keep everything up to date.
If Battery Test Is Cancelled Again
Run the test from BIOS.
Try again with the charger unplugged.
If it still fails, the battery may be damaged or failing.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.
