When I attempt to run the "battery check" @ 20 secs into it my laptop power shuts off but unable to power back on. I have to disconnect the power cord & remove/replace battery in order to power back on via power button. Last time I ran this was some time ago & had no problems, any ideas ?

You can check the battery to some extent using Powershell built into Windows 10. as follows:
1) Press Windows key + X
2) Click Powershell in the menu
3) Type powercfg /batteryreport

This will generate a report and if you scroll down, you will see Design Capacity and Full Charge Capacity ratings. If the Full Charge Capacity is much less than 100% of the Design Capacity, it is faulty and needs to be replaced.

Appreciate the help but "powershell" not in menu & when I attempt to bring up powershell app & I type in powercfg /batteryreport get:

powercfg/batteryreport : The term 'powercfg/batteryreport' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script
file, or operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct
and try again.

+ powercfg/batteryreport

+ CategoryInfo : ObjectNotFound: (powercfg/batteryreport:String) [], CommandNotFoundException
+ FullyQualifiedErrorId : CommandNotFoundException

Needless to say I'm lost so guess I won't be able to ck. battery status even though shows my battery is at 100%.
