I've read today that another 80k HP Pavilion laptops have batteries that are a potential fire risk.
Surely there must be somewhere you can enter your full product serial number to find out if you have one of the affected machines?
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

The product serial number can't point you in the right direction, as it's noted: Not all batteries in all HP ProBook 64x, HP ProBook 65x, HP ProBook 4xx, HP x360 310 G2, HP ENVY, HP Pavilion x360, HP 11 notebooks, HP Thin Clients, and HP Zbook mobile workstations are affected by this risk recall.
The HP Battery Program Validation Utility will check if the battery in your notebook computer is affected.
Follow these steps and see if your laptop was affacted or not.
Download HP Battary Validation Utility.
A quick reminder:
If you do not meet minimum requirement's, please download the fully loaded battery validation utilitythat will install the required frameworks.
Minimum system requirements for the utility are:
· Windows Operating System
· Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.2
· HP Software Framework
After installation click the icon on your desktop to check your battery.
If your battery is shown to be one of the faulty models, the software utility will offer you a battery safety update that will prevent your battery from charging.
