Hi @Adarsh90929

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're experiencing rapid battery drain on your HP laptop running Windows 11, there are several potential causes and solutions you can explore. Here are steps to troubleshoot and address the issue:

Check Power Settings:

  • Open the Settings app on Windows 11.
  • Go to "System" and then select "Power & sleep" from the left sidebar.
  • Review the power plans and make sure you are using a balanced or power-saving plan rather than a high-performance plan.

Update Drivers:

  • Ensure that your laptop has the latest graphics and battery drivers. You can do this through the Device Manager.
  • Right-click on the Start button and select "Device Manager."
  • Expand the "Batteries" category, right-click on "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery," and select "Update driver."

BIOS/UEFI Update:

  • Check if there is a BIOS/UEFI update available for your laptop on the HP support website. Sometimes, firmware updates include improvements for battery performance.

Background Applications:

  • Check for unnecessary background applications that might be consuming power. Close any unnecessary programs running in the background.

Windows Update:

  • Ensure your operating system is up-to-date by installing the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, Microsoft releases updates that address power management issues.

Battery Calibration:

  • Occasionally calibrating your laptop's battery can help improve its accuracy in reporting the remaining charge. To do this, allow your laptop to run until it shuts down due to low battery, then recharge it to 100%.

Task Manager:

  • Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to identify any processes or applications using a significant amount of CPU or GPU resources. End tasks that are not essential.

Disable Startup Programs:

  • Some applications launch at startup and continue running in the background, consuming power. Disable unnecessary startup programs through the Task Manager.

Check for Malware:

  • Perform a full system scan using your antivirus software to ensure there is no malware affecting your system's performance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
