@DanC_32754, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
To reinstall the battery and adapter for the HP 15.6 inch Laptop PC 15-d5000 series, follow these guidelines:
Reinstalling the Battery:
Power Down the Laptop: Ensure the laptop is completely turned off and unplugged from any power source.
Remove the Battery:
For models with a removable battery:
- Turn the laptop upside down.
- Slide the battery release latch to unlock it.
- Gently lift the battery out of its compartment.
For models with a non-removable battery, this operation should be performed by an authorized service provider, as it involves disassembling the laptop case.
Reinsert the Battery:
- Align the battery with its connector.
- Press the battery down into the compartment until it clicks into place.
Secure the Battery: Slide the battery latch to lock the battery in place.
Reinstalling the AC Adapter:
Inspect the Adapter: Ensure the adapter and its cables are not damaged.
Connect to the Laptop:
- Insert the adapter’s connector into the corresponding AC Smart pin adapter plug on the laptop.
Plug into a Power Source: Connect the adapter to a working power outlet.
Power On: After reconnecting, turn on the laptop to ensure it is working properly.
I hope this helps.
