Hi @Rambhan
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue where the battery charging light repeatedly changes from orange to white could indicate a power or battery problem. Here's what you can do to troubleshoot the issue:
1. Check the Power Adapter and Connection:
- Ensure the charger is properly connected to both the laptop and the wall socket.
- Try using a different power outlet to rule out a problem with the current socket.
- Check the charger cable for any signs of damage or wear. If possible, test the laptop with another compatible charger.
2. Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the charger and remove any peripherals connected to the laptop.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-30 seconds to discharge residual power.
- Reconnect the charger and try turning on the laptop again.
3. Check for Loose Battery Connections:
- If your laptop has a removable battery, ensure it is seated correctly.
- For laptops with non-removable batteries, you can still reset the battery. Look for a battery reset pinhole on the bottom of the laptop (if applicable) and press it with a paperclip.
4. Inspect Battery Status:
- If the laptop powers on intermittently, check the battery status in Windows. If it's not holding a charge, the battery might need to be replaced.
- Run HP Diagnostics by pressing F2 during startup to check the battery and power components.
Test Without the Battery (For Removable Batteries):
- If your laptop has a removable battery, try removing the battery and powering the laptop with just the charger. If it powers on, the issue might be with the battery itself, and it may need replacement.
6. Check for Overheating:
- Overheating could cause charging issues. Let the laptop cool down and check the vents to ensure they are not blocked.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
