Hi @dpr63611,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query in this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to know whether you can leave the charger connected to the computer always.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
I recommend you connect the charger when you are using the computer. Once the battery is charged 100% the computer starts using the AC power and the battery stops charging.
You can refer to the below article on how to improve the battery performance.
Hope that answers your question and you have a great day!
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care.

hi,
Are there any indicator show that it's using a direct AC instead of discharging and charging?
My company use to own a HP laptop with integrated battery. The staff laptop is always place in the office and on it during office hour. However, battery start to deteriorate after 2 years.
If the AC kicks in after it's fully charge in 100%, I don't see this will happen to the laptop.
Thanks,
Edwin Teo

I feeling very frustrated now using my laptop. I just got my battery replace after 15mths of usage.
Owner out there, please do not plug in your AC 24/7. The power obvoiusly did not cut off after 100% charge and it seems like HP do not have ANY SOLUTION on this.
You need to manual monitor when your battery coming to 0% and turn on your AC to have it fully charge. After it was fully charge, plug out and let it drain off again.
