Need help with fingerprinting. I have tried several solutions (checking for updates, starting Windows biometrics services, a few CMD commands, etc.) but so far I still cannot obtain the 'biometrics device' menu in the device manager. If there are newer or more relevant solutions I will need them to resolve this problem.

You do not need to be concerned with the device manager to effect use of the Biometric fingerprint sensor.
The HP Client Security's Credential Manager should be in Settings> Apps
The sensor can be enabled/disabled/reset in the BIOS. It must be enabled before enrolling fingerprints.
"Integrated fingerprint readers are available on select products. In order to use the fingerprint reader, you
must enroll your fingerprints in HP Client Security's Credential Manager. Refer to the HP Client Security
software Help."
Take a look at Settings >Apps & Features to see if the HP Client Security's Credential Manager is already installed.
