If I'm running linux mint OS and all the updates are for windows a .exe file how can I update bios Compaq Presario CQ57???

The answer is -- not easily.

First off, you would need to use 7-zip to extract the contents of the HP SoftPaq into its components.

Second, since the rest is really complicated, and we are not equipped to provide detailed Linux assistance, you would need to contact the support forum for the Linux distro you are using.

They should be able to tell you how to make Linux-bootable media from which you could then update the BIOS using the components you extracted.
