Bios fail after only 16 months. Bought from Currys so went back to them under Consumer Rights Act. They have come back as follows:

"These Martell range of units suffer from fry solder joints caused by the motherboard flexing when the unit is handled. We cannot offer a lasting repair as even if we replaced the motherboard, in all likelihood the fault will recur over time."

They have offered me £202.02. I paid £419 when new 16 months ago. Has anyone else had this problem? Needless to say, I won't be replacing with an HP! My previous laptop was an HP and the hard drive crashed then the casing started coming apart. It seems as if HP have done nothing in recent years to improve their build quality. I have now been without a laptop for 3 weeks! Not happy.
