Microsoft Windows 11

After updating the BIOS version to F.12 RevA, my brand new laptop (HP Victus 16t-d000) runs extremely slow down when working on the battery. Animations are delayed and files open very slowly. It steel works very smoothly and fast when plugged in. When I checked the OMEN gaming hub installed on the laptop, I realized that the CPU speed and voltage dropped substantially immediately after unplugging.

I've checked various methods and ways, but nothing worked out:

1. changing the power plan

2. offloading Windows

3. changing performance settings

4. Re-installing Windows 11

5. Opened the laptop to unplug the battery to reset the CMOS

nothing worked!

I check the system for hardware-related problems, nothing was found.

Is there any previous BIOS version to downgrade?

@Jamalk

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I understand that your HP notebook is not working correctly after the BIOS update. I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue.

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Press and hold the Windows + V keys, and then simultaneously press and hold the power button. After 2 to 3 seconds, continue to press and hold the Windows + V keys, but release the power button.

  3. When the CMOS Reset screen displays or you hear beeping sounds, release the Windows + V keys.

At the completion of a successful CMOS Reset, a message similar to the following one is displayed.

    Successful CMOS reset button message

  4. Press enter to restart the computer.

If the issue persists, follow the next steps.

  1. Turn off the computer and be sure that the AC adapter is connected to power.

  2. Press and hold the Windows + B keys, and then simultaneously press the power button.

  3. After 2 to 3 seconds, continue to press and hold the Windows + B keys, but release the power button. You might hear a series of beeps.

    • If the HP BIOS Update screen is not displayed, repeat the previous steps but press the Windows + V keys. If the screen is still not displayed, your computer might not support the feature or there is a hard drive issue.

    • If the power light turns off, the power button was held too long. Repeat the previous steps, making sure that you press and hold the power button for only 2 to 3 seconds.

    • If a BIOS recovery message is displayed repeatedly, see Recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
