Hi @Dani7774,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your laptop is stuck on the “BIOS system files recovery cannot be found” screen, it’s asking you to scan a barcode, the link shows page not found, and you can’t exit the screen. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this and how to recover the system.

Understand what this screen means
This appears when the BIOS is corrupted or incomplete and the system cannot find recovery files on the internal drive.
The barcode link failing is expected and does not block recovery.

Force-exit the recovery screen (first step)
Press and hold the Power button for 15–20 seconds until the laptop turns off completely.
Wait 10 seconds, then power it back on to retry recovery.

Try the built-in BIOS recovery key sequence
Turn the laptop off.
Press and hold Windows + B, then press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds.
Release the Power button but keep holding Windows + B for up to 40 seconds.
Watch for beeps, screen changes, or a BIOS recovery progress screen.

If Windows + B does not work, try Windows + V
Repeat the same steps as above but use Windows + V instead.
Some HP models use this alternate key combination.

Connect the charger and remove all external devices
Make sure the laptop is plugged into power.
Disconnect USB devices, SD cards, and external monitors, then retry BIOS recovery.

Understand why it cannot find recovery files
If the BIOS partition or firmware image is damaged, the system cannot self-repair.
In this case, recovery must be done from external media.

Prepare a BIOS recovery USB (required if stuck)
On another working computer, go to HP Support for your exact laptop model.
Download the latest BIOS update and choose the option to Create Recovery USB if available.
Use a blank USB drive (8 GB or less, FAT32).

Run BIOS recovery from the USB
Insert the USB into the affected laptop.
Turn the laptop off.
Press and hold Windows + B, then press Power for 2–3 seconds.
Release Power but keep holding Windows + B until recovery starts.

I hope this helps.
