Hi @Jaypatel123,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

It appears the F.43 BIOS update has caused a "firmware handshake" failure where the system no longer correctly initializes the AMD fTPM (firmware TPM). This often happens when the updated BIOS fails to clear old security keys, causing the TPM to remain hidden from Windows even if it is enabled in the BIOS menu.

Reset TPM Keys and BIOS Defaults

  • Shut down the laptop, then turn it on and immediately tap F10 repeatedly to enter the BIOS.
  • Navigate to the Security tab, select TPM Configuration or Trusted Computing, and choose the Clear TPM or Reset TPM option.
  • Go to the Exit or Main tab, select Load Setup Defaults (usually F9), and then press F10 to save and exit.

Re-enable fTPM and Secure Boot

  • Re-enter the BIOS (F10) and go to the Security or Advanced tab.
  • Ensure AMD fTPM, PSP fTPM, or Security Device Support is set to Enabled.
  • Navigate to Secure Boot Configuration, set Secure Boot to Enabled, and ensure Legacy Support is Disabled.

Update the AMD PSP Driver in Windows.

  • Boot into Windows, right-click the Start button, and select Device Manager.
  • Expand Security devices; if you only see "AMD PSP 10.0" and no TPM, right-click the AMD PSP driver and select Update driver.
  • Select Search automatically for drivers, then restart your computer and check if TPM is now active by running tpm.msc.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

I have already tried the steps you mentioned, including:

  • Clearing TPM from BIOS
  • Loading BIOS defaults
  • Re-enabling fTPM and Secure Boot
  • Updating AMD PSP drivers

However, the issue persists.

The main problem is that TPM is not detected at all in Windows:

  • “Get-Tpm” shows TpmPresent: False
  • Device Manager does not show TPM, only AMD PSP

This indicates that TPM is not initializing at firmware level, not just a configuration issue.

Additionally, BIOS rollback is blocked with the error: “Unable to open BIOS Signature file.”

Since TPM was working perfectly before BIOS F.43, this appears to be a firmware issue caused by the update.

Could you please escalate this case or provide:

  • A proper BIOS rollback method
  • Or a firmware fix for TPM detection

Thank you for your support.

Regards,
Jay Patel
