Hi @Forzamnm,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop is stuck at 99% during a BIOS recovery, it's a concerning situation. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.
Wait and Be Patient: Sometimes, BIOS updates or recoveries take time, and it might be stuck momentarily. Give it some time, as the process could be completing background tasks.
Hard Reset:
- Turn off your laptop.
- Disconnect the power supply.
- Remove the laptop battery if it's removable.
- Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power supply (and reinsert the battery if it's removable).
- Power on your laptop and see if it progresses past 99%.
Retry the BIOS Recovery:
- If the laptop is still stuck at 99%, you may need to redo the BIOS recovery process. Sometimes, issues can arise during the initial attempt.
- Make sure to follow the official HP documentation and ensure that your USB flash drive is properly formatted.
Use a Different USB Port:
- Try using a different USB port on your laptop. Sometimes, a different port might have better connectivity.
Check for Power Interruptions:
- Ensure that there are no power interruptions during the BIOS recovery process. A stable power source is crucial for BIOS updates.
Remember that updating the BIOS carries some risk, and if not done correctly, it can lead to serious issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
