OMEN Laptop - 15-en0023dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to update my bios to a newer version that came out later than the one I currently have.  I need to update it because call of duty needs to have latest TPM 2.0 security. I download it from your site and it goes through the process but when It restarts the computer and tries to clear old bios image the computer restarts and goes back into windows without making the changes. I have tried via usb as well same problem. I thought it was because i had windows 11 installed so i installed windows 10 which originally came with the computer to see if that works but same problem

Hi @skeemone1972,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing the details of your OMEN Laptop - 15-en0023dx and what you’ve already tried.

I’d like to clarify a couple of points for you as HP support:

  • The latest BIOS available for your model is version F.26 Rev.A, released on May 8, 2024.
  • If you are already running this version, there is no further update available. You can confirm your current BIOS version by pressing Win + R → type msinfo32 → Enter, then check the BIOS Version/Date line.
  • The TPM 2.0 requirement for games like Call of Duty is tied to firmware TPM (fTPM), which is built into your AMD processor. This function is available in your BIOS under Security → TPM Device. Even without a BIOS update, enabling TPM (if not already enabled) should meet the requirement.

Since you mentioned the BIOS update appears to start but doesn’t complete:

  1. Make sure the BIOS update file you downloaded matches your exact product SKU (15-en0023dx) from the OMEN Laptop - 15-en0023dx Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support.
  2. Disconnect all peripherals (USB drives, printers, etc.) during update.
  3. Run the update again from Windows using the HP BIOS Update utility. If that still fails, create a bootable USB using the HP BIOS Update and Recovery utility.

⚠️ Important: If your system already shows BIOS F.26 Rev.A, then you are up to date, and there is no newer BIOS to install.

👉 Could you please check your current BIOS version in System Information (msinfo32) and let me know what it shows? That will help confirm if you need to update or if you already have the latest.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
