Secure boot and Legacy mode can be configured in the BIOS/UEFI - F10

Hello @shivpatel730

Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum.

I am afraid you cannot disable or stop these options ( I mean you cannot make them go away) - they are part of HP Startup Menu which is very useful and not every PC vendor has.

Actually, the options you have are

F1 - for system info

F2 for harware diagnostics

some other F buttons for diagnostics on some old models

F9 - Boot menu options

F10 enter BIOS configuration

F11 system recovery (load recovery partition)

None of them can really hurt your data by existence. F1 and F2 particularly

F9/F10/F11 might post some risk but you could mitigate these by establishing a BIOS password and startup password

Go to BIOS (F10), security settings and enter some password (depending on the specific options you can enable password for entering BIOS and bootable password - anytime someone wants to boot from your primary HDD)

To mitigate the chance from someone attacking your data or operating system (e.g. via F9/F11 options), you can/should enable full disk encryption such as BitLocker, VeraCrypt or others

Hope this answers your question. Let me know if something is not clear. 🙂

The options work but under some special curtumstances.

Your computer probably has a Secure Boot option enabled and Also Fast Startup option also enabled in Windows. This may prevent users from pressing them. You may want to disable Fast Start Up (present in Windows 8 and 10) >> https://www.howtogeek.com/243901/the-pros-and-cons-of-windows-10s-fast-startup-mode/

Also, if you restart the PC (not shutdown but restart), you can begin hitting the Esc button which will bring the HP Start Menu (start hitting the Esc button even though you may not see anything on screen)
