HP Pavilion 15 CW1598sa
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey guys, does anyone else have the HP Pavilion 15 CW1598sa ? if you do have you updated the BIOS to version F.35 ? Im worried about updating my laptop however i have heard issues with the AMD processor have been resolved with the latest BIOS update ? The main reason i thought about updating was because twice the laptop went to a blue screen on windows 10 and then restarted very quickly before i could even see the error message, i updated the drivers after this (it's been 6 days seen the issue first occurred) after doing the driver updates through the HP assist app i've not had this problem (drivers updated 4 days ago). I,m also worried that if i do the bios update maybe in between the same thing may happen and the laptop may restart  and the BIOS fail. What are my options if this does happen and what are your views on updating?.

Hi,

Personally, I always update. I mean if they have worked on the BIOS it is usually for a reason and only rarely will it present any problems.

This is what the update states:

- Adds support for additional solid-state drive (SSD) models.
- Provides improved system stability

Here you can download and install:

Hope it helps,

Only thing is, i'm not very technical, i'm a student and have limited funds so im scared it might mess the laptop up if the installation goes wrong for some reason.  Thats why im looking if anyone else has updated the BIOS on this laptop to the f.35 version and to see if there are any problems. Also what steps would i have to take to recover my laptop if anything like a failed update occurs and the screen does not turn on or something (i've read that this can happen if a bios update fails) ?

What you read about are the few times BIOS updates go wrong out of millions of updates. It is very rare.

Here you can read about BIOS recovery.
