HP Recommended

I reset my HP Envy without saving Recovery Key, now it wants one to access system. Best Buy is charging $150. Anyone know a cheaper solution? I don't have it saved in my Microsoft Account. Please help,

$150 for 20 minutes of work?  Wow.

 

I'm in the wrong racket.

 

You can reinstall Windows for free by making a bootable USB installation flash drive with the W10 or W11 Microsoft media creation tool as applicable.

 

Download Windows 10

 

Download Windows 11

 

When you get to the part that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows, delete every partition on the hard drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space.  Click Next and Windows should install.

 

If your notebook is less than 5 years old it should be supported by the HP cloud recovery tool as well which you can use to reinstall Windows.

 

The cloud recovery tool will wipe the drive and reinstall the original factory image.
