HP Beats Special Ed: 15-p030nr

Okay, I have used this laptop for a semester's worth of class in IT and others. I was just playing a game, it crashes and it stayed frozen for well over 15 minutes. So, I held down the power button for a hard boot. After I tried turning it back on, the HP logo will come up with the the "Preparing Automatic Repair" wording below it. After this, the screen goes black and stays such hours on end till I shut it off manually using the power button (obviously). I have tried the Hard Drive system check by using the: press esc, press F2, click System Test, Quick Test and all.

It comes with: Processor Check PASSED, Memory Quick Check PASSED (7.11GB), Hard Drive Smart Check PASSED, Hard Drive Short DST Check SOFTWARE ERROR, Battery Check : Primary-OK (0), Wireless Module Check PASSED and System Board Check PASSED. System Quick Test PASSED.

What can I do to get it fixed? I'm not sure exactly whats going on or what happened, what IS happening but I'm afraid of losing my work from my semester's worth of class notes!

SOS!

@Daichi_Uchiha

Thank you for posting on HP Forums,

Riddle_Decipher, is at your service (Like a Genie, however, without magic powers) 😉

As I understand there's a black screen with the error - "Preparing Automatic Repairs" and Hard Drive DST Check: Warning after SQT,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Have you performed an extensive test to identify the issue as it's more detailed compared to a quick test?

While you respond to that, here's what you need to know:

To create a backup as that's the best and the first thing to do in this scenario: Click here to access safe mode and transfer the content to an external hard drive, etc.

Once backup is complete, I recommend an extensive test to identify the cause of the failure and work, accordingly:

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.

  4. Click Extensive Test.

  5. Click Run once, or Loop until error.

While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component are shown on the screen.

  6. If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) so you have it available when you get the device repaired. The information is also available in Test Logs on the main menu.

If the extensive hardware test pass, you may need to perform a system restore followed by a recovery using the F11 key, recovery manager.

However, if the test fails, you need to check the below:
