Hi @Xman007

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That kind of sudden black screen—especially after using DISKPART CLEAN—can be deeply unsettling. What’s likely happened is that the system’s boot partition and recovery environment were wiped, and now the firmware can’t locate a valid boot path or even initialize the display. The fact that you can’t access BIOS suggests a deeper issue with the UEFI firmware or embedded controller.

Let’s walk through a structured recovery path to help bring your HP 14-eg0001ni back to life.

Step-by-Step Recovery

1. Perform a Hardware Reset

This clears residual power and resets the embedded controller:

  • Disconnect all peripherals (USB, charger, etc.)
  • Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds
  • Leave the laptop unplugged for another 60 seconds
  • Plug in the charger directly to a wall outlet
  • Press the Power button once (do not hold)

Watch for any flicker from the keyboard backlight, fan spin, or LED indicators.

2. Try BIOS Recovery Key Combo

HP laptops support a BIOS recovery shortcut:

  • With the laptop powered off, hold down Windows key + B
  • While holding those keys, press and hold the Power button for 2–3 seconds
  • Release all buttons and wait up to 30 seconds

If successful, the BIOS recovery screen should appear. If not, continue to the next step.

3. Test with External Display

Connect the laptop to an external monitor via HDMI or USB-C:

  • Power on the laptop and check if the external display shows anything
  • If the external screen works, the issue may be with the internal display or ribbon cable

4. Create a Bootable USB (on Another PC)

If the display initializes but no OS loads:

  • Use another computer to create a Windows 11 installation USB via the Media Creation Tool
  • Plug it into the affected laptop
  • Power on and tap Esc, F9, or F10 repeatedly to access the boot menu

If the screen remains black, the system may not be POSTing at all.

If the Laptop Remains Unresponsive

If there’s no display, no BIOS access, and no external output:

  • The embedded controller or UEFI firmware may be corrupted
  • You’ll need factory-level service to reflash the BIOS or replace the system board

You’ve done everything right by trying to recover the system and seeking help early. Let’s get your system back to a working state.
