Hi. I do a recovery of my ProBook 6560b because clean a system. After first start of win7, the windows updater start installing about 32 updates. All looks fine, but when i confirm a computer restar after update, I have a blue screen, and i must repair system to the point before updates, again and agian. I tried to make recovery again, but with the same result. Now i am after 7 recovery attempts and every time i try a litle changes during instalation, but result is the same. There are some bugs in updates, that makes this problem. Most of this first updates are about net framework 4, touchpad drivers and sp1. I am realy desperate. When i forbid updates, everything work fine, but its not a final solution. Please help, i dont know what to do. I dont instal any programs or antivirus. It is only system with hp drivers.

Hi again @Johny_84
How do you reinstall Windows ? Perhaps you use HP Recovery media to reinstall Windows (to restore to factory default condition) ?
What are the updates which Windows 7 offer you to install prior to the failure ?
Note that you have the priviledge to select which updates to install and you are not obligated to install all of the updates, especially if some causes issues to your computer.
After you restore the PC to default condition (or reinstall Windows),
I recommend you install the so called "SP2" - Convenience roll up update
Here is how to install it >> https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-obtain-and-install-windows-7-sp2/c2c700...
After that install only Security related updates to your computer and do not install other updates, driver updates, etc...
Does this strategy help ? Are you without BSOD after that ?

Hello @Johny_84
Welcome to the HP Support forum.
As you probably know the Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) is kind of Windows self-protection feature. If you received a blue screen error, or stop code, the computer has shut down abruptly to protect itself from data loss. A hardware device, its driver, or related software might have caused this error. What you describe could happen because of incompatible with Windows driver (most often) or because of hardware issue (rarely).
In your cases it is obviously a software issue - either the updates or the drivers.
In order to troubleshoot, I would need some specific information.
1. Configuration
When you start your computer to Windows, go to Start -> Control Panel -> System should be opened.
Then follow the instructions here to Disable Automatic Reboot after Blue Screen Errors
Uncheck "Automatically restart" option and click OK.
When BSOD screen appears your computer shall not reboot but the blue screen will remain on top.
Please, write here absolutely everything you will see on the screen. (of take a picture and upload it here in your next reply). There can be some code which may help me help you. After that you will have to hard restart your computer.
Simulate the issue and
2. Collect memory dump files
After reboot/restart , open the Computer (Windows Explorer) and go to C:\Windows\
Open Minidump folder
There should be some dump files inside the folder.
Mark them all, right click them all (when marked) -> choose Send to -> Compressed (zipped) folder
Windows will now create a zip archive
I will need this zip archive containing the dump files. They may help me providing technical information about why the issue happens. Once you have the files, upload them somewhere (e.g. OneDrive, Google Drive, etc...) and provide me with link to download

Hi @Johny_84
Thank you for the provided information.
I analyzed the file and it is clear that the BSOD screen is caused by the HpqKbFiltr.sys
Perhaps this gets installed with the updates.
HpqKbFiltr.sys is not essential for the Windows OS and causes relatively few problems. HpqKbFiltr.sys is located in the C:\Windows\System32\drivers folder
HpqKbFiltr.sys file is a software component of HP Quick Launch Buttons
Do not enable Automatic updates installation.
If you select which updates to install and which not, you should NOT select the HP Quick Launch buttons one and just ignore it (or hide it). Here is an info how to permanently hide an update >> http://freewindowsvistatutorials.com/disable-and-hide-windows-updates-in-windows-7.php
Now, if you want to avoid reinstallation, try this:
Boot the computer in Safe Mode - this is a special mode where only the most essential stuff is loaded
-- Turn on the computer and immediately begin pressing the F8 key repeatedly (like tap-tap-tap).
-- From the Windows Advanced Options Menu, use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode, and press ENTER
-- Wait for Windows to load fully
While in Safe Mode, use Windows Explorer/Computer, go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers
-- Be careful. Find HpqKbFiltr.sys , right click it and rename it to off_HpqKbFiltr.sys
Restart the computer
The computer will automatically exit Safe Mode when it is shut down.
Issue should be solved.
Hope this works for you. Let me know how it goes.

Hi. It was a fight, but i finnaly finished full instalation. I do a recovery from hdd, deny updates, download sp1 and 2 separately, and instal them gradually. After this i allow updates and install and install.... There was been some errors, but i repair them by another win patches and now is all functional. However the HP software is useless and slow down computer, so i try to uninstal it. Thanks for helping 😉
