Hi @UFQ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE" blue screen error typically indicates a problem with a driver not transitioning between power states correctly. This issue is common after upgrading to Windows 11, as some drivers may not be fully compatible. Here’s how to troubleshoot and fix it.

Update Drivers

Update All Drivers Automatically:

  • Press Win + X > Select Device Manager.
  • Look for any device with a yellow exclamation mark.
  • Right-click the device > Select Update driver > Search automatically for drivers.

Update Drivers Using Windows Update:

  • Press Win + I to open Settings > Navigate to Windows Update > Click Check for Updates.
  • Install all pending updates, including optional driver updates.

Update Drivers Manually:

  • Visit our HP support page.
  • Download and install the latest drivers, focusing on:
    • Display Adapter (GPU).
    • Network Adapter.
    • Chipset drivers.

Roll Back Incompatible Drivers

If a driver was recently updated, it might not be compatible:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Right-click the device > Select Properties.
  3. Go to the Driver tab > Click Roll Back Driver (if available).

Change Power Settings

Disable Fast Startup:

  • Press Win + R, type control, and hit Enter.
  • Navigate to Power Options > Choose what the power button does.
  • Click Change settings that are currently unavailable.
  • Uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended) > Save changes.

Set High-Performance Power Plan:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options.
  • Select High Performance or Ultimate Performance.

Disable Third-Party Programs

Third-party software can interfere with drivers. Boot into Safe Mode:

  1. Press Win + I > Go to System > Recovery > Advanced Startup > Click Restart Now.
  2. After restarting, navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Enable Safe Mode.
  3. Uninstall any recently added third-party antivirus or system optimization tools.

Use the System File Checker (SFC) and DISM

Corrupt system files can cause this error:

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Run the following commands:
    • sfc /scannow
    • DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Update BIOS/UEFI

Outdated BIOS can also trigger power-related issues:

  1. Visit our HP website.
  2. Search for the latest BIOS update for your laptop model.
  3. Follow the HP instructions to update BIOS carefully.

Perform a Clean Boot

A clean boot eliminates software conflicts:

  1. Press Win + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter.
  2. Go to the Services tab > Check Hide all Microsoft services > Click Disable all.
  3. Go to the Startup tab > Click Open Task Manager > Disable all startup items.
  4. Restart your laptop.

Perform a System Restore

If the issue started recently:

  1. Press Win + R, type rstrui, and hit Enter.
  2. Choose a restore point created before the issue started.

Reset or Reinstall Windows

If the issue persists, consider a reset or clean installation:

  1. Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC.
  2. Select Keep my files or Remove everything based on your preference.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
