Hi @mahakal_1183,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the bluescreen error on your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

1. Update Drivers

Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause the DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION error.

Update Drivers via Device Manager:

  1. Right-click on the Start menu and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand categories (e.g., Display adapters, Disk drives, Network adapters).
  3. Right-click on each device and select Update driver.
  4. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
  5. Follow the on-screen instructions.

HP Support Assistant:

  1. Open HP Support Assistant on your laptop.
  2. Select Check for updates and messages.
  3. Allow the tool to download and install any updates available.

2. Update BIOS

An outdated BIOS may also lead to this error.

  • Check for BIOS Updates:
    1. Visit the HP Support page for your laptop.
    2. Enter your model number (7N772AV) and find the Drivers & Software section.
    3. Look for BIOS updates and download the latest version.
    4. Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the BIOS.

3. Check and Update Storage Controllers

Sometimes, the error is due to outdated IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.

  • Update Storage Controllers:
    1. Open Device Manager.
    2. Expand IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers.
    3. Right-click on Standard SATA AHCI Controller and select Update driver.
    4. Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.

4. Run System File Checker (SFC)

Corrupted system files can cause the DPC WATCHDOG VIOLATION error.

  • Run SFC Scan:
    1. Press Windows + X and select Windows Terminal (Admin).
    2. Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
    3. Wait for the scan to complete and follow any on-screen instructions to repair system files.

I hope this helps.
