Dear all,
I am a poor guy from srilanka, and I have brought a second hand laptop HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab143cl (ENERGY STAR) for my graphic designing activities and other activities. Yesterday it was displayed some error massages and restarted and not worked properly. I exactly know that the OS is not working properly. So I tried my best to install windows 10 with my friends, but I couldn't do that(it always shows blue screen when installing windows 10). So we have installed windows 8.1 and then it worked normally.
So now I want to know that is it ok to work with windows 8.1 or
Do I want to install windows 10 to do my work?
If I want to install windows 10 then can any one help me how to do that?
what kind of windows suitable for that ?
How to Install it ?
Please be kind me to help me on this situation,
Thank you all

According to the HP product info for your PC, it came with Win10 preloaded -- so there is no reason why Win10 would not work on it.
But ... you said it was having problems, so the filesystem could have become corrupted, or if it was crashing, running real slow, or apps were failing to launch or run properly, those are indications of a failing hard drive.
If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024
If not, to check the drive you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu -- that will look similar to the image below ...
3) press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.
Please report back the test results.
