Hi @Cyril91,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're encountering the dreaded Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) with the stop code 0x0000007B, which typically indicates an issue with the boot device. This could be due to various reasons, such as incompatible hardware drivers, corrupted system files, or incorrect BIOS settings.
Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
- Safe Mode: Try booting into Safe Mode by pressing the F8 key repeatedly during startup. If you can access Safe Mode, you might be able to troubleshoot the issue from there.
- System Restore: If you have a recent system restore point, you can try reverting your system back to that point. This can help if the issue was caused by recent changes to your system.
- Check Hardware Connections: Make sure all your hardware components, especially the hard drive where Windows is installed, are properly connected. If you recently installed new hardware, try removing it and see if the problem persists.
- Boot Configuration Data (BCD): It's possible that the Boot Configuration Data is corrupted. You can try repairing it using the Windows Recovery Environment or using the command prompt in the Windows installation media.
- Check for Disk Errors: Boot from a Windows installation USB or DVD and choose the Repair option. From there, you can access Command Prompt and run chkdsk to check for and repair disk errors.
- Update Drivers: If you recently installed any new hardware, make sure you have the latest drivers installed. Outdated or incompatible drivers can cause the BSOD.
- Check BIOS Settings: Ensure that your BIOS settings are configured correctly, especially settings related to the hard drive and storage controllers.
- Reinstall Windows: If all else fails and you're unable to boot into Windows or access any recovery options, you may need to reinstall Windows. Make sure to back up any important data before doing so.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
