Hello,
I am helping a family member out with their laptop and have tried all the usual steps but to no avail.
The laptop is a HP Pavilion 15, running an unknown Windows version. Upon loading it is displaying the 'Boot Device Not Found - 3F0' error.
I have tried accessing the BIOS settings or system recovery and the process name is shown in the bottom left corner of the screen, but then fails to load and simply returns back to the standard 'Boot Device' error screen.
The only action I can get it to run is the F2 system diagnostics which the Hard Drive quick and extensive tests both fail.
Does anyone have any tips on how I can access system recovery or any other tool to try and restore the machine. TIA

Hi,
As you can see the hard drive has failed. It's impossible to recover any system on a failed hdd. The only option here is to get a new hard drive/solid state drive and either perform a fresh install of the system or use the recovery disk(CD/USB) that the system offers to create at the first boot or the user has created it on his own. I also believe it's possible to buy it from HP after contacting a local Customer Support Centre if necessary.
