Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

I have a problem with my laptop where it can't find a Boot Device it says:

  • Boot Device Not Found
  • Please Install an operating system on your hard disk
  • Hard Disk (3F0)
  • F2 System Diagnostics
  • For more information, please visit: www.hpcom/go/techcenter/startup

I have followed the directions and everything going to the techcenter startup page, and I have found the correct page to help me. I have tried doing the hard reboot by pulling out the battery and external devices and holding the power button for 30 seconds and reset it. That didn't work.

When i do the System Diagnostics, new commands come pulled up:

Responses:

  • Memory test:
  1. When I do this, I get the response after the test-
  2. Memory Quick Check: PASSED

  • Hard  Drive Check-
  • [Quick Check]
  1. Testing Drive: 1
  2. SMART Check: PASSED
  3. Short DST: FAILED
  4. FAILURE ID: M4W73T-95N98L-XD7W2J-60RQ03
  5. PRODUCT ID: 3TT16UA#ABA
  6. Hard Drive 1
  • [Extensive Check]
  1. Testing Drive: 1
  2. SMART Check: PASSED
  3. Long DST: FAILED
  4. Then the same Failure ID and Product ID from above

There is nothing else to this, I have to provide I hope this is enough to solve my problem, Thank you!

Sadly to say: Most of the time the 24 char failure id indicates the HDD is failing and it needs to be replaced. Is it still under warranry ? If Yes, please call HP for a replacement.

In the US:

Since your machine has  Windows 10, you can do a clean install W10 for free by using the media creation tool at the link below.

  https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

The tool will allow you to make a bootable installation media (USB/DVD) and you can use installation media to install.

During the installation process if you are asked to enter a product key, check the 'Skip' box and W10 will install and then automatically activate once you are connected to the internet using the key embedded in BIOS of your machine.

Then you can install the drivers and available software you need from your PC's support page.

Regards.
