Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Boot Device Not Found" error on your HP all-in-one desktop typically indicates that your computer is unable to detect the hard drive or that the operating system is missing or corrupted. Here are steps to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:
1. Check Hardware Connections
- Power Off: Turn off your computer and unplug it.
- Check Connections: If you're comfortable, open the back panel and check the connections to the hard drive. Ensure they are secure.
2. Access BIOS/UEFI
- Restart the Computer: Turn it back on.
- Enter BIOS/UEFI: As soon as you see the HP logo, repeatedly press the Esc key until you see the startup menu, then press F10 to enter BIOS.
- Check Boot Order:
- In the BIOS menu, navigate to the Boot tab.
- Ensure that the hard drive is listed as one of the boot devices. If it's not listed, the drive may be failing or disconnected.
3. Run Hardware Diagnostics
- Built-in Diagnostics:
- Restart your computer and press Esc to enter the startup menu.
- Select F2 to run diagnostics.
- Follow the prompts to check the hard drive for errors.
4. Repair the Operating System
- If the diagnostics pass, the operating system might be corrupted. You can attempt a repair:
- Recovery USB: If you have a Windows recovery USB or installation media, you can boot from it:
- Insert the USB and restart the computer.
- Enter BIOS and set the USB as the first boot device.
- Boot from the USB and choose the "Repair your computer" option.
- Follow the prompts for startup repair.
- Recovery USB: If you have a Windows recovery USB or installation media, you can boot from it:
5. Check for Windows Recovery Options
- If you don't have a recovery USB:
- You might need to create one using another computer. Use the Microsoft Media Creation Tool to make a Windows installation USB.
6. Consider Reinstalling Windows
- If repair options don’t work, you may need to perform a clean installation of Windows:
- Back up your data if possible before doing this, as it will erase everything on the hard drive.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
