Product: HP Notebook 15-dy1003ca

When I turn my notebook on, it doesn't go to windows and instead it says "boot device not found" and "please install an operating system on your hard disk." Initially I was seeing an error regarding the BIOS but now I see the msg about the operating system. I have tried to update the bios using a usb flashdrive but the system won't even recognize anything.  What do I do?
