For some reason I'm unable to specify my laptop so I'll describe it here. Its an hp spectre x360 convertible model 13t-ae000 (Edited). Not sure of the system since I can't get through to get that info. There is a sticker that says intel core i5 8th gen. Not sure if thats helpful.
The laptop wont start up properly, before i was able to get in to try and back up files, but eventually the system shut down and I could no longer access my files.
Now whenever I turn it on the screen loads to Boot Device Not Found.
I tried following the online instructions to get it to factory settings off the bios menu, but contrary to the instructions, after I say yes to save and exit, there is no instructions to follow, the computer turns off then on again to the Boot Device Not Found screen. I've tried multiple times with the same results.
Please let me know what else I can do to fix this problem, or if i need to turn it in for further inspection.

Hi @Amondragon01,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
The "Boot Device Not Found" error generally indicates that the system cannot find a viable hard drive or bootable media. This may be due to issues with the hard drive or the system's configuration. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
Check BIOS Settings:
- Restart the laptop and press Esc repeatedly to enter the startup menu.
- Select the F10 key to enter BIOS setup.
- Navigate to the Boot Options and ensure that the hard drive is listed as the first boot device.
Run System Diagnostics:
- While in the BIOS, navigate to the Diagnostics menu.
- Run the Primary Hard Drive Self Test to check the health of the hard drive.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Turn off the laptop, disconnect any external devices, and remove the power adapter.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual electricity.
- Reconnect the power adapter and attempt to start the laptop again.
Check Hard Drive Connection:
- If you're comfortable doing so, open the back panel of the laptop and ensure that the hard drive is properly connected. Sometimes a loose connection can cause boot issues.
Use Recovery Media:
- If the hard drive is accessible but not bootable, you might need a Windows recovery USB to troubleshoot and repair the boot sector.
- You can create a Windows recovery USB from another computer using the Windows Media Creation Tool.
I hope this helps.
