Hi @Yona5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP laptop is showing a “Boot Device Not Found” message even after restarting and following the on-screen guidance. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Perform a Hard Reset

Turn off the laptop and unplug the power cord.

If it has a removable battery, take it out.

Press and hold the Power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.

Reconnect only the power cord and turn the laptop on.

Check BIOS Boot Order

Turn the laptop on and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then press F10 to open the BIOS Setup.

Go to the Boot or System Configuration tab.

Make sure your Hard Drive or SSD is listed first in the boot order.

Press F10 to save changes and exit.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

Restart and tap Esc, then select F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.

Choose System Tests → Extensive Test to check for hard drive issues.

If the hard drive test fails, it indicates the drive may need to be replaced.

Reseat the Storage Drive (if comfortable doing so)

Power off the laptop and disconnect it from power.

If accessible, open the back panel and gently remove and reinsert the SSD or HDD.

Ensure it’s seated securely before closing the cover.

Check for a Corrupted Boot Sector

If the storage drive is detected in BIOS but still won’t boot, Windows may have a damaged boot file.

You can create a Windows installation USB, boot from it, and select Repair your computer → Troubleshoot → Startup Repair to rebuild the boot files.

Verify Drive Detection in BIOS

If the BIOS does not list your SSD or HDD under storage devices, the drive may have failed physically.

In that case, data recovery or drive replacement will be required before reinstalling Windows.

I hope this helps.
