Boot on DVD

Hello. I have formatted the Hard Disk from this Laptop and now i want to make a new Windows 7 installation.

But imposiible to boot with the DVD, if i check on BIOS setting, on the Boot Sequence there is not "internal DVD" proposed but only USB DVD...  I don't know how to do... Must i install a new BIOS ? How to do because i have find some executable files for that on HP Website but my other computer are on MacOs so i don't know how to create a USB boot device

Hi if you have the windows 7 installiton on your cd then boot in to the Cd but if it shows up like a usb Cd but for the windows 7 instaltion please make sure in your bios settings legacys boot option is enabled

Is there a multibay device to boot from?

That would be the DVD drive.

You're right, thank you. So i have put it in the top of the list but no boot possible, there is a quick message "Media Test Faillure , Check Cable" : so i have to open the laptop to check inside if something is unconnect, if not there is probably a problem with the drive...

I will checkit this evening or tomorrow.

See if this works...

Have the DVD in the drive.

Turn on or restart the PC.  Tap the ESC key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu, and from that select the notebook multibay device and press the enter key.

A message should appear on the screen to press any key to boot from DVD. Press any key.

The PC should boot from the DVD drive when you do that.

If the ESC key does nothing, then just start tapping the F9 key at the beginning of the HP welcome screen to get the boot options menu.

There should be no need to change the boot order in the BIOS.
