Hello @agupta3304

It's slow most likely because of the Windows installation - Windows 10.

1. Click on Start

2. Start typing and type  winver

3. Open this program

4. Let me know the Windows version / edition you have - like 1609, 1703, 1709, 1803 or which one ?

5. Do you have McAfee or some 3rd party security program.

I need to know what starts along with your Windows to rule out software problems and heavy programs

Download Autoruns (from Microsoft) from this URL => http://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe

Information about the product => http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx

- Save the file on your Desktop

- Run Microsoft Autoruns  with Administrator rights (right click -> Run as Administrator).

Agree with the standard license agreement from Microsoft.

- Once Autoruns is started, it will need some seconds (could be a minute) to gather the snapshot, wait for it.

Once it is ready, you will see the word Ready in the lower left side.

  • Click on Options

Make sure that only the following are selected:

  • Hide Empty Locations
  • Hide Windows Entries

- Click on  Rescan button  or  click on File -> Refresh to rescan the system.

It will need some seconds (could be a minute) to gather the snapshot, wait for it.

Once it is ready, you will see the word Ready in the lower left side.

- Finally, click on File -> Save

Save the snapshot on the desktop in .TXT file

Open the newly created TXT log file.

Mark and Select all of the text (e.g. CTR+A), copy it and

visit http://pastebin.com/  to paste it there

Create new paste and give me the URL to see the log file.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you for the provided information.

Here are some issues I can see now:

1. Lots of preloaded programs which you may or may not use - may or may not be helpful for you - depending on the user case

2. Old Windows version

3. Old Office version

4. Windows 10 itself - telemetry/updates

The combination itself, along with the HDD may cause issues. Windows 10 itself is trying to update itself - build 1709 has been released 1 year ago and you are missing quite a lot of updates. And it is pushy.

Most things we can improve:

1. Let's disable some apps which you may not use

Open Autoruns

Be careful and uncheck / de-select these options only to disable these apps from starting automatically with Windows - if you happen to need them eventually, you can always start them manually

After all of the above has been performed, you may want to also do this:

1. Optimize

- defragment your Hard Disk Drive (if you have hard disk drive) > https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/8933-optimize-defrag-drives-windows-10-a.html

- run Disk Clean Up - cleanmgr.exe > https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/3012-disk-cleanup-open-use-windows-10-a.html

2. Remove unneeded and temporary files. Download and run CCLeaner (from Piriform) with the extra options checked. Here are instructions

Thank you for keeping me updated.

Could you provide more details about what you did, how ? Do you notice any performance increase ? It's not possible to not notice even a small improvement. I wrote you a screed, please "ping-pong" to me and include as many details as possible.

When exactly did you purchase computer and where from ?

Just wondering if you have checked Task Manager to see if any unusual disk activity? Also click on Performance tab and check CPU and memory .
