Hello all,
I have discovered that my laptop BIOS was never upgraded (it had the F22 version). Therefore I proceeded very happily to look for the last BIOS available for my S/N (sp146927.exe)
I use the windows method, and everything goes well until the reboot. Just a black screen maintained for 2 hours.
Now I got a just a black screen, with the power-on side led lighted, no beep, no keyboard response (neither CAPS led) and just HDD and FAN spinning.
I prepared a recovery USB but for whatever reason nothing happens: I have tried to boot-up pressing "windows" + B keys, "windows" + V, all the faour arrow keys, Ctrl + Esc or just the power button, with and without the pendrive, on all the three available ports... it is always the same black screen.
I suspected it could be due to the pendrive I use as laptop has 6 years and USB sticks I have are quite new, so I have tried: 4GB, 32GB (FAT32) and 2GB(FAT16), but no response. Something maybe interesting is that some of the pendrives have a led inside that normally blinks when there is activity, that led never bright on any of the many times I have tried the process.
Of course no need to say that the laptop was working well before the BIOS update.
Has any of you ever experienced something similar? Any clue, tip or help to try something different?
Thanks in advance
