Hi @Avika2005,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
If your HP Victus laptop's brightness is very low on the lock screen, making it difficult to unlock, you can try the following solutions:
1. Use Keyboard Shortcuts
- Increase Brightness:
- On many HP laptops, you can adjust the brightness using the function keys. Look for the brightness icons (sun or light) on the F1 to F12 keys. Hold down the Fn key and press the appropriate brightness increase key (usually F2 or F3).
2. External Monitor
- Connect to an External Monitor:
- If you have an external monitor or TV, connect your laptop to it using HDMI or another compatible cable. This might help you see the screen more clearly and adjust settings once you log in.
3. Access Safe Mode
- Boot into Safe Mode:
- Restart your laptop and press F8, Shift + F8, or Esc (depending on your model) during startup to access advanced boot options.
- Select Safe Mode from the options. Sometimes, Safe Mode has different display settings that might be more visible.
4. Adjust Brightness Settings in BIOS
- Access BIOS Settings:
- Restart your laptop and press F10 (or another key depending on your model) to enter the BIOS setup.
- Some BIOS versions have brightness settings. Check if you can adjust brightness from the BIOS menu.
5. Use Windows Recovery Options
- Access Recovery Options:
- Restart your laptop and repeatedly press F11 or Esc to enter the recovery environment.
- From there, you can try accessing Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings and choose to start with Safe Mode.
6. Try a Hard Reset
- Perform a Hard Reset:
- Power off your laptop completely.
- Disconnect any external devices and power cables.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cable and turn on your laptop to see if the issue persists.
If none of these solutions work, consider contacting HP Phone Support or visiting a service center.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
