The right hinge of my HP Envy x360 laptop has broken off internally.
Searching the forum, it appears this is a design flaw in the hinge for the Envy x360 series. I've found several posts with the same problem.
However, a few of the above posts imply that HP may be doing something about remediation for those affected by this apparent design flaw.
I believe my laptop is out of warranty, which means I have no recourse other than to pay out of pocket for the repair, and I do not want to pay for an obvious design flaw on the laptop. I've been cautious with my laptop, and I do not force the lid close or anything that would cause this damage.
Up until this hinge broke, I was very happy with the laptop. I even recommended it as a purchase to several people. I've since rescinded that recommendation because of this design flaw.
